Finding Missing Numbers to 50

A missing-number sequence can be solved by looking for the counting pattern. The numbers may increase or decrease by the same amount.

Find the Pattern

  1. Read the numbers on both sides of the gap.
  2. Work out how much the sequence changes.
  3. Apply the same step to the missing place.
  4. Read the complete sequence to check it.

Use a number line when you need a visual check, especially when counting across a group of ten.
