Writing a Weekend Recount

A recount tells about events that have already happened. A clear recount usually follows the order in which events occurred.

Plan Your Recount

  1. Choose one weekend experience.
  2. Record what happened first, next and last.
  3. Add a detail about where you were or who was with you.
  4. Include how you felt about the experience.

Use past-tense verbs and time words such as first, then, later and finally.
